Queensland is the most disaster impacted state in Australia. Shouldn't we expect a little more funding it times of need?

If this was Chris Bowen's decision it was one of his worst. Federal Labor doesn't do much for the state since their heart isn't in it.

The Commonwealth government announced plans to change disaster recovery funding from a 65/35 to a 50/50 split between federal and state governments, prompting fierce opposition from Queensland officials who argue the state will be significantly disadvantaged. Queensland Premier David Crisafulli and other state leaders say they will fight the changes, claiming local councils lack capacity to cover the funding shortfall.
