Haha, just joking. I actually don't mind chatting with people from "the other side", and hearing other viewpoints. But, things are so polarised at the moment that having that conversation online just is not the same as having it in person.
For a start, I think people online are a lot more loose with pejoratives and hyperbole. But as well, it's so hard to gauge whether someone is an actual person with opinions, or just a) a troll b) a bot c) a paid agitator, instead of posting things in good faith. Some of the Australian subreddits are infuriating to read through.
Like sometimes it just feels like people will post ANY sort of contrary comment, just because they can think of it. It's so rare to actually see someone say "well jeez I never thought about that aspect" or "man I didn't know about that - that sucks".
I don't think it helps that we (humanity) have literally weaponised and financially incentivised being contrarian. I heard an anecdote about a guy in a poorer country who was making far more than the average wage in that country by posting incendiary memes on social media. The story went that he didn't even really understand why his memes were winding people up so much - but it was so profitable that he was set on doing it (and who could blame him).
Anyway, let's see how long we can keep Topicle civil :)

Hi baby
Hi
At the risk of being controversial, I kinda hope it does swing one way, politically.
But don't worry, I mean I hope it swings the GOOD way politically - I'm sure we all agree which way that is!
And which way might that be? I don’t agree. It shouldn’t swing either way.
We don’t want another echo chamber where differing opinions are taken as dissent!
This should be a place for only the judea people's front, not the stupid people's front of judea!
Oh, so I guess the folks from the Judean Front for the People can just go jump in a lake then?
TYPICAL of you lot >:(
Well, obviously, it should be MY way!!
