A hunger and labor strike at a New Jersey ICE detention facility entered its fifth day on Tuesday as protests outside escalated into clashes with federal officers who used chemical spray and tasers against demonstrators. Between 300 and 400 detainees at the Newark-based Delaney Hall facility, operated by private prison company the Geo Group, are demanding improved conditions, medical care, and accelerated processing of their immigration cases.
