The outback town of Windorah, Queensland, has installed an 850-kilowatt solar farm and battery storage system expected to cut diesel usage by more than 50 percent, replacing a failed solar array from 2009. The project aims to build community resilience during floods, though locals will not see reductions in power bills as savings benefit the state subsidy system.
